HEAD COACH ANDY REID
OPENING STATEMENT: “Alright, really don’t have any injuries to talk about. We’ll keep Kareem (Hunt) down this game, the two tackles will both have an opportunity to get in there this game – the left tackles. (We) look forward to the challenge of playing the Falcons, (they’re) a really good football team, (they’re) well coached and they’ve got talent down there. We just saw that Monday night; they played their hearts out so we look forward again to that challenge of playing a real good and well coached football team. With that, time’s yours.”
Q: Will one of the left tackles play more than the other?
REID: “We’ll see how it goes as we roll.”
Q: Do you like how both of the left tackles responded this week?
REID: “They’re both ready to go, yeah.”
Q: How is Kareem Hunt looking since he has been back?
REID: “He (Kareem Hunt) did good, he – looks like he’s in decent shape. Now listen, he has to have an opportunity to play, I think he could play in a football game somewhere to tell you the rest, but he came in in good shape so that’s a plus there.”
Q: Do you think it’ll be much longer until he’s back in football shape?
REID: “We’ll see how it goes next week and see where he’s (Kareem Hunt) at. He got a lot of reps this week with the scout team so that was good for him to get in there and run around and kind of get back into the football part of it.”
Q: What is Carson Steele’s confidence like this week after taking on a role in last week’s game?
REID: “Carson (Steele) doesn’t say much. He just kind of goes in and does his thing and goes 100 miles an hour every play so that’s what he did this week and he did a nice job with it.”
Q: I can’t recall a time where you’ve rotated left tackles, what made you land on this solution?
REID: “Just like a lawyer, that was good. That was a good try. Listen, there’s always something new for you.”
Q: What kind of challenges do the Falcons defense present to you?
REID: “Their defense, they’ve got some experienced players there. Obviously, their head coach (Raheem Morris) is a phenomenal defensive coordinator and likewise with their defensive coordinator (Jimmy Lake) so both of them rotate that thing up and give you different looks and the players have bought into what they’re teaching. They play – they play hard, they’ve got the senior leadership there, especially on the backend. It looks like they’re communicating real well.”
Q: What’s unique about playing on Sunday Night Football in primetime?
REID: “Normally you’re the only game going so that’s a positive. I’m not sure anybody likes playing at night but it’s – and wait all that time but it’s always exciting when you get there and that’s a great venue there.”
