OFFICIAL BIO: Bringing a sense of normalcy to the unpredictable morning show, Nate as been part of the Sports Radio 810 WHB team since 2003. A proud native of Wyandotte County, in Kansas City, Kansas, Nate is one of the most well read and well prepared radio hosts in the market and adds keen insight and interesting perspective when discussing the days headlines, whether it’s sports, news or entertainment-related.
Nate is as versatile as he is thorough, serving as a play-by-play commentator for Major League Soccer on Apple TV. Nate also performs soccer coverage on the FOX and CBS Networks. Nate previously served as the play-by-play announcer for Sporting Kansas City, as well as stints as the pre-game host and sideline reporter for University of Kansas football, play-by-play voice of Kansas women’s basketball, and clubhouse reporter for FOX Sports Kansas City’s Royals pre-game and post-game.
After graduating from Bishop Ward High School in 1994, Nate honed his professional talents at the University of Kansas where he graduated with a Broadcast Journalism degree. From Lawrence, Nate crossed the state line where he accepted his first full time radio job in Moberly, Missouri. That’s where Nate’s versatility really paid off, as a country music DJ, a news anchor and a farm show reporter.
Nate’s meteoric rise in the business led him to moving back to the Kansas City market a year later where he held various positions at 1250 The Game and News Radio 980 KMBZ before coming to WHB in 2003.
When he’s not working on the air (which is rare), Nate spends time with his wonderful family (wife, Kelly; sons, Ben and Andy; and daughter, Ophelia), listens to his favorite music (The Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, and Vampire Weekend rank up there) or watches one of several favorite movies (Grosse Point Blank and Pulp Fiction top that list).
Proudest moment: Getting married to my beautiful wife, Kelly, on April 21st of 2007 and birth of all three children. Also proud of running the Chicago Marathon in 3 hours and 41 minutes back in 2001.
Best moment as a broadcaster: A few come to mind: 1) Calling the play-by-play of Sporting Kansas City’s 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Championship in Philadelphia, 2) Interviewing Wilt Chamberlain when he came back to Kansas in 1997. 3) Conducting an on-field interview with Carlos Beltran after he hit a walk-off home run against the White Sox on Opening Day of 2004. It was the first year of the Royals on WHB, and it was all downhill from there! 4) Working the sidelines during the 2008 Fed Ex Orange Bowl, concluding the greatest season in Kansas Football history 5) 2017 US Open Cup championship

Best Barbeque in Kansas City: I must defer to my father on this one. He’s always sworn by Arthur Bryant’s, and I can’t disagree with him. Although there are soon many great options, you can’t go wrong.
