The “new” guy at the station having joined in September 2019, Cory is the
elder (by 3 years) of the two Andersons on “The Zone” which airs weekdays
from 10am–2pm on Sports Radio 810.
Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Cory graduated from Oklahoma State
with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2002. Early in his career, he was
the play-by-play voice for Trinity University in San Antonio and a contributor
at The Ticket 760 Sports Radio. From there, he moved to KLWN in Lawrence
as a producer on Rock Chalk Sports Talk and provided high school
play-by-play. He found his way to Kansas City and was a host of the “Chris
and Cowboy” sports radio show for 7 years. During a hiatus from the sports
media, Cory worked in fundraising for Children’s Mercy and as a coach for
The First Tee of Greater Kansas City before coming back to radio and joining
Jason Anderson on “The Zone.”
When he’s not on the air, Cory spends time with his amazing family (wife
Crystal and daughter Ally) and enjoys golfing and traveling. He’s a huge fan
of old school hip-hop and classic rock, and always a fan of a good flick (The
Big Lebowski topping that list).
