WASHINGTON -- Bradley Beal sat out the Washington Wizards' home opener Friday night against the Indiana Pacers because of right hip problems.
Coach Wes Unseld Jr. said Beal was sore and the team was going to be cautious. Unseld said he expects Beal to be available Monday night at Brooklyn.
Beal, who missed five games late last season with a right hip contusion, played 34 minutes in Washington's 98-83 win at Toronto on Wednesday night to open the season. He scored 23 points.
With Beal sidelined, Spencer Dinwiddie and Kyle Kuzma stepped up in their home debuts, with Dinwiddie scoring 34 points -- including a tying 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter -- and Kuzma adding 26 to lift the Wizards.
"Obviously, Brad being out, I can still be aggressive, and my volume's going to be higher," Kuzma said. "If he's in playing, I might be lower. But I'm going to play the same every game."
