LIVE Transfer Talk: Man United's Paul Pogba to wait for Real Madrid move in 2022?

The summer transfer window is into its final week for the major European leagues, which means the biggest clubs are looking to make a splash in the market while they still can. Check out the latest gossip below, and see all official deals here.

TOP STORY: Pogba to wait for Real Madrid move in 2022?

Manchester United have made headlines by bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, but Marca claims that won't stop midfielder Paul Pogba from running down his contract to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2022.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has gone on record to say the 28-year-old will not sign a new contract, but sources have told ESPN that United have not given up hope that he will extend his stay.

This summer is United's last chance to receive a significant fee for the France international, who has started the Premier League season in incredible form, but there has been no firm contact from any of Europe's major clubs and there remain doubts about whether Real Madrid, Barcelona or Juventus could afford the financial outlay needed to sign the World Cup winner without including players as part of the deal.

Sources said that United will seek contract talks with Pogba before he is able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside the Premier League in January, but Marca claims that the player has his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu.

Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, would all be interested if he was available for free in a year.

21.15 BST: That's all for today, but please check in later to see what the Sunday papers are saying, two days out from deadline day!

21.09 BST: Kurt Zouma has completed a move from Chelsea to West Ham, the clubs have announced.

The French international defender departs Stamford Bridge having made 151 appearances for Chelsea since he arrived as a teenager in 2014. During his time at the club, he won two Premier League titles and the Champions League.

"I am delighted to welcome Kurt to West Ham United," Hammers manager David Moyes said. "He is a player we have tracked for some time, and we have taken great care and diligence to make the transfer happen. He was always our first choice and I am very happy that he is now our player."

Zouma, 26, previously spent time on loan at former club Saint-Etienne, as well as Stoke and Everton.

20.36 BST: It looks as if Jesus Corona's move from Porto to Milan is off, with the two clubs unable to agree on a transfer fee.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that there is a valuation gap of approximately €5m over the Mexico international, with the Rossoneri set to switch focus to Romain Faivre of Brest and Crotone's Junior Messias.

19.55 BST: Bayern Munich cruised to a big win on Saturday, but are not resting on their laurels in the transfer market as they pursue a 10th straight Bundesliga title.

Bild's Christian Falk reports that Julian Nagelsmann wants to raid former club RB Leipzig to sign Austrian international midfielder Marcel Sabitzer., who is in the final year of his contract.

Should the 27-year-old make the move to the Allianz Arena, he would follow in the footsteps of Dayot Upamecano, who switched from Leipzig to Bayern ahead of this season.

19.02 BST: The plot thickens further: Sky Sports' Kaveh Solhekol claims that Diogo Dalot might yet be Dortmund-bound, if Man United can sign a replacement before Tuesday's deadline.

Maybe we will get our saga!

18.44 BST: Not sure this can quite be classed as a saga -- especially by this transfer window's standards! -- but it seems as if Diogo Dalot will not be leaving Manchester United after all.

In an update posted at 13.35 BST, we noted that Borussia Dortmund were closing in on a deal for the Portugal full-back, but now Jonathan Shrager reports that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told the 22-year-old that he wants him to stay at Old Trafford.

A knock-on effect of this move is that Kieran Trippier, who had previously been strongly linked with United, is almost certain to stay with Atletico Madrid.

18.00 BST: Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez has agreed to renew his contract, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Martinez, 24, will receive €6m net per season plus add-ons and is happy to stay a part of coach Simone Inzaghi's project in Milan after being linked with a move away.

After letting Romelu Lukaku leave for Chelsea for €115m, Inter signed Argentina international Joaquin Correa on loan from Lazio to partner his fellow countryman Martinez up front.

17.22 BST: Fabrizio Romano reports that Dutch side Feyenoord have joined the race to sign Manchester United winger Amad Diallo on loan.

Diallo, 19, will slip down the pecking order now that Cristiano Ronaldo is heading back to Old Trafford and needs first-team game.

Romano claims that Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are interested as well.

16.48 BST: Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo has now reported that Saul Niguez will stay with Atletico Madrid, despite interest from Chelsea and Man United.

Saul, 26, had looked set to leave LaLiga's champions amid tensions with manager Diego Simeone that saw him played in a number of different positions and miss out on Spain manager Luis Enrique's squad for Euro 2020.

The midfielder was in talks over a swap deal with Barcelona's Antoine Griezmann but that collapsed, and now a move to the Premier League seems to have done so as well.

16.37 BST: Ajax have confirmed the signing of FC Copenhagen attacker Mohamed Daramy.

Daramy, 19, had attracted interest from Man United but Ajax paid around €13m to sign the Denmark U21 international.

16.29 BST: Real Madrid defender Alvaro Odriozola has joined Fiorentina on a season-long loan.

15.22 BST: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he is not expecting to sign a striker before the transfer deadline after failed attempts to land Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kane, City's top target this summer, has announced his decision to stay at Tottenham, while Ronaldo has returned to Manchester United.

It has left Guardiola without a replacement for Sergio Aguero andspeaking after watching his team thrash Arsenal 5-0 on Saturday, he says he does not expect that to change before Tuesday's deadline.

Asked whether a new striker will arrive before the end of the window, Guardiola said: "I don't think so. We don't need a striker because we scored five goals. You will see during the season how many people say we do [need one] when we don't win.

"It is a fantastic squad. All I can say is thank you to Txiki [Begiristain] and Ferran [Soriano]. They know I never ask for one player. We try. Sometimes we can do it, and sometimes we don't."

In the absence of a recognised striker against Arsenal, winger Ferran Torres was deployed as a centre-forward and got two goals and one assist.

15.00 BST: Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard has been linked with a shock move to Juventus to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

14.42 BST: PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking in a news conference and, when asked if Kylian Mbappe has told him he wants to leave PSG, he said: "No, he hasn't told me anything about wanting to leave PSG."

He added: "Kylian has prepared himself well for tomorrow's game. The position of our president and our sporting director is very clear on Mbappe's situation at PSG."

Mbappe, Neymar and new signing Lionel Messi could start the game against Reims on Sunday.

"They have trained well and we will analyse the situation, we have not yet named the squad," he said. "They will certainly be part of the squad, but we do not know yet if they will play from the start."

13.35 BST: Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund have made a breakthrough in talks over the signing of Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot.

Dalot, 22, has agreed to a loan move with Dortmund having an obligation to sign him permanently. However, the deal won't go through until United have signed a replacement.

13.04 BST: Aston Villa striker Wesley has joined Club Brugge on a season-long loan.

Wesley, 24, moved from the Belgian club to the Premier League with Villa in 2019 and scored five goals in 26 appearances.

12.42 BST: Crystal Palace have signed Will Hughes from Watford for a fee of around £5m.

Speaking with Palace TV, Hughes said: "Fans want to see players give 100% and that's the minimum I'll give. That's what they can expect... [Palace are] planning for the future and it's exciting times ahead. They're not just planning for the here and now, which is obviously important, but they've got a big project going on here so it's exciting to be part of it."

12.30 BST: Le Parisien reports that Real Madrid will back out of negotiations over the signing of PSG forward Kylian Mbappe if they can't agree a deal by Sunday night.

Sources told ESPN that the Spanish club made an offer worth €180m (€170m plus €10m in add-ons) on Thursday but there has been no movement since then and the 22-year-old has been training as normal in Paris today.

PSG hoped that World Cup winner Mbappe, who is out of contract in June 2022, would extend his deal at club. However, that now appears to not be the case and PSG will look to cash in on the player's transfer instead of risk losing him as a free agent.

11.55 BST: It's nearly transfer deadline day so we'd be remiss not to go CRAZY whenever there is a player on a plane.

Is Dortmund striker Erling Haaland off to Paris? Madrid? Manchester? Or just heading to the shops?

11.05 BST: Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba looks set to leave the club this summer before his contract expires in 2022 and Sport reports he has already reached an agreement to join RB Leipzig.

Moriba, 18, has failed to agree new terms at Camp Nou and one of the most highly rated young players in Europe could be available for nothing next summer.

With Barcelona's awful financial situation, the club are looking to recoup a €20m transfer fee and are considering an offer from Leipzig, while also waiting for interest from Tottenham and Chelsea to manifest.

10.38 BST: The Daily Telegraph reports that Wolves are in talks with RB Leipzig over loan move for South Korea forward Hwang Hee-chan.

The 25-year-old has struggled for game time in recent seasons and is also being watched by West Ham, Brighton and Serie A side Atalanta.

10.11 BST: Juventus are moving quickly to replace Cristiano Ronaldo by re-signing Moise Kean from Everton, says RMC.

Kean, 21, moved from the Serie A club to Merseyside for around €30m in 2019, but struggled to make an impact and was loaned to Paris Saint-Germain where he scored 18 goals in 40 matches across all competitions last season.

Everton are happy to let Kean depart as Dominic Calvert-Lewin has established himself as first-choice striker, with the club reportedly set to receive a fee in the region of €25m, though it could be structured as an initial loan with an obligation to make permanent next year.

09.46 BST: Cristiano Ronaldo was all set to join Manchester City, until a few former United teammates got in touch.

09.30 BST: Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United has shocked the soccer world. Gab Marcotti explains why.

There will be time to analyse and assess whether it's the right move, for Cristiano and for United, but right now, you're left stunned by the mechanics of how it came to be.

First and foremost is the timing itself. Why did Cristiano wait this long? It's not as if something happened in the past week that suddenly made Ronaldo want to leave Juventus. The club's financial situation didn't suddenly deteriorate in mid-August. Ronaldo didn't suddenly run into Max Allegri after two years and think "Nah, I don't really want to play for this guy." It's not as if Juve had promised him they'd acquire a star-studded supporting cast for him and, as a result, he wanted to jump ship: he knew full well that, other than Manuel Locatelli, there would no significant newcomers.

In fact, it feels as if this had as much to do with opportunities elsewhere as it did with a desire to leave.

There were only four viable destinations in terms of who could afford him: Real Madrid, PSG, Man City and Man United. Madrid wants Mbappe, and PSG wants to keep Mbappe. Mendes knew that although Mbappe is very good, he can't play for two teams at once and that whoever didn't land Mbappe might have an interest in Ronaldo. Equally, Man City, having missed out on Harry Kane, were an option.

Man United? They were there all along, and the mere fact that they hadn't moved for him earlier when it might have made more sense, sporting-wise, didn't mean much. Ego is a part of football and, perhaps, being able to pip a target linked to City played a part. And that's the other remarkable part of this tale because Ronaldo isn't the sort of player you expect to get shopped around; you expect him to be courted and seduced by clubs, you expect bidding wars for his attention. Instead, we got Mendes going door to door.

09.13 BST: Sources have told ESPN that Sevilla have rejected a €50m bid for defender Jules Kounde from Chelsea.

Kounde, 22, is keen to join the Champions League winners and personal terms have already been agreed between the player and club.

Sevilla play Elche (live on ESPN+) on Saturday but the France international won't travel for the game. The LaLiga side are reportedly holding out for a fee of around €70m.

08.30 BST: Paris Saint-Germain will target Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski, Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland, or Everton's Richarlison should Kylian Mbappe make the move to Real Madrid, sources have told ESPN's Julien Laurens.

Lewandowski's agent Pini Zahavi was in Paris on Monday and has discussed the possibility of the arrival of the Poland international, sources told ESPN. Lewandowski wants a new challenge after seven successful years at Bayern but he still has two years left on his contract. It is highly unlikely that the German club will agree to let the 33-year-old go although PSG would be ready to offer a huge amount of money to attract him.

It is a similar issue with Haaland. On Friday, Leonardo spoke to Mino Raiola, Haaland's agent, who is in favour of a move from Dortmund for his client this summer. Raiola and Leonardo are close friends and worked on Gianluigi Donnarumma's transfer from AC Milan to PSG this summer. PSG believe that a bid of around €200m could convince Dortmund to move the player now, sources have told ESPN.

Leonardo and Mauricio Pochettino are also big fans of Everton's forward Richarlison. His agent is also in Paris and despite Everton manager Rafael Benitez assuring that the Brazilian would not be allowed to go this summer, PSG are confident that they can attract the 24-year-old to the capital.

PAPER GOSSIP (by Danny Lewis)

- Paris Saint-Germain are aiming to sign Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus should Kylian Mbappe join Real Madrid, according to Globo Esporte. Sources have told ESPN that Madrid and PSG are nearing a deal for Mbappe -- with optimism that an agreement could be reached soon -- after the Spanish club made a second offer worth €180m, having had an original €160m bid rejected earlier this week.

- AS Roma are considering a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Hector Herrera, as has been reported by Calciomercato, for under €10m. This comes after they were priced out of moves for Borussia Monchengladbach's Denis Zakaria and Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz -- both of whom were valued at over €25m.

- Bayern Munich youngster Taylor Booth is attracting interest from across Europe, reports The Daily Mail. The 20-year-old American made his debut in the 12-0 victory over fifth-tier side Bremer in the German Cup but has not signed a contract to keep him at Bayern past the summer of 2022. Tottenham Hotspur have previously shown interest in the midfielder, while it is claimed that clubs from England and Spain are aware of his situation.

- Eintracht Frankfurt's Filip Kostic is looking to force through a move to Lazio, despite the Serie A outfit having not actually put in an offer yet, reports Sport Bild. The Serbian missed training on Friday and will not be available for their game against Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday. Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche said he was irritated by the player's approach.

- With Roma having brought in Tammy Abraham and Eldor Shomurodov, Real Madrid are worried about the lack of minutes Borja Mayoral will receive, says AS. Therefore, Los Blancos are hoping to recall the 24-year-old and loan him out again, with Crystal Palace and Fiorentina among his most likely destinations.

- Having seen offers turned down for Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat and Sampdoria's Morten Thorsby, Atalanta are now looking to sign AZ Alkmaar midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, reports Calciomercato. This comes after the Eredivisie outfit failed to reach the Europa League group stage after bowing out to Celtic.
