The summer transfer window is into its final month for the major European leagues, which means the biggest clubs are looking to make a splash in the market before the new season begins. TOP STORY: Pogba wants Madrid movePaul Pogba will stay at Manchester United this season, but he intends to run his contract down to set up a dream move to Real Madrid, according to the Daily Star. The outlet says the France star intends to join up with international teammate Kylian Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu as part of a treble swoop that will see Real Madrid also target Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland next season. Pogba has just 12 months remaining on his current deal, and he was previously linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, with reports claiming that Manchester United would demand a fee of £50 million to avoid missing out on a significant transfer sum. But with the 28-year-old now eyeing a move to LaLiga, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side could have no choice but to respect the player's wishes if he decides to honour the remainder of his contract. Abraham will join the Roman club on an expected £34m move, having already arrived to Italy this weekend. Chelsea will keep a buyback clause that is worth around £70m for the player's services, who saw his playing time limited under Blues boss Thomas Tuchel. 21.00 BST: Layvin Kurzawa may be on the outside looking in after PSG's busy summer, and the French full-back may be open to a move to rivals Lyon. According to RMC, Kurzawa wouldn't be opposed to leaving the French capital due to potential reduced playing time behind Juan Bernat and Abdou Diallo. Kurzawa was absent from PSG's win over Strasbourg, strengthening the case that Mauricio Pochettino may not have him in this season's plans. Kurzawa had also been tied to move to Galatasaray, but the Turkish club has yet to formally make any offer for the player. 20.05 BST: Chelsea are set to loan two players from their 42-man squad, with Kenedy set for Flamengo and Matt Miazga nearing a move to Alaves. According to Goal, Kenedy's potential deal with Flamengo includes an initial loan and then permanent option of €10 million. Miazga, who has done loan stints at Anderlecht and Reading in the past, would set off to join Spanish club Alaves but Chelsea may try to extend his contract for one more year before finalising the loan. 19.15 BST: Celtic are pushing for a move to bring in Manchester City's Yan Couto, but Sky Sports reports that the Brazilian right-back has also garnered interest from Portuguese club Braga. Couto's flirtation with the Scottish club has been so prominent that he was in attendance at Celtic Park to see it beat Jablonec in Europa League qualifying action last week. Couto spent last season on loan at Genoa and remains a priority of Celtic, who also have interest in Royal Antwerp's Aurelio Buta and Legia Warsaw's Josip Juranovic. 18.15 BST: Leicester City and Spurs are both in on the chase to sign Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, according to Corriere dello Sport. The Japanese star is valued by the Italian club at €20-25m, and has gained interest from a wide array of Premier League teams. The 22-year-old Tomiyasu can operate as left-back as well, which would allow whichever team that lands him to have a versatile player in the background. Tomiyasu has reportedly stated his preference for a move to Spurs. 17.18 BST: Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris says he is "calm and relaxed" despite coming into the final year of his contract with talks over a new deal yet to open. France international goalkeeper Lloris is entering his 10th season at Spurs, and the 2018 World Cup winner has fresh competition for his No. 12 jersey at club level with the arrival of Pierluigi Gollini on loan from Atalanta. "There is nothing from the club, to be honest," the 34-year-old said. "I don't have to show my loyalty towards the club after nine years and season No. 10 that is coming. "I'm just calm and relaxed and focused on myself and make sure that I'm ready to compete on the first game. I always give my priority to Spurs and we will see what will happen. I'm not affected about that, I'm just enjoying football. "My only reason to wake up every morning is to work, enjoy the training session and enjoy the competition." 16.34 BST: Real Madrid are hoping to raise some of the money necessary to sign Kylian Mbappe next year from Martin Odegaard's exit this summer, AS reports. Paris Saint-Germain striker Mbappe is a long-term target for Madrid, but the Spanish giants will struggle to afford the €150m transfer fee in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the renovation of their Bernabeu stadium. However, following Odegaard's loan spell at Arsenal last season, and his status as an unregistered player so far this season back at Madrid, AS reports that Los Blancos are hopeful of raising up to €50m from transferring him out of the club before the deadline. 15.42 BST: Harry Kane has not been included in Tottenham's matchday squad for today's Premier League encounter against Manchester City, the team who just happen to want to sign him and where Kane himself wants to go (see 11.49 BST). Asked about the omission of Kane, who only joined team training earlier this week once he had quarantined following his post-Euros break,, Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo told Sky: "He is continuing his preparation, the delay all these things. Harry needs to work, he worked today and he will keep on working until he is ready the team... He worked in the morning, I don't know what he is going to do." 15.12 BST: Tammy Abraham has arrived in Italy to complete his transfer from Chelsea to Roma (see 10.52 BST). Bet he wasn't expecting such a wild reception at the airport... 14.29 BST: Angel Di Maria has said it is "much better" that Paris Saint-Germain signed Lionel Messi rather than Cristiano Ronaldo, adding that Messi is "from another planet" compared to Ronaldo and even PSG teammates Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Di Maria -- who joined PSG in 2015 after spells at Real Madrid, where he was a teammate of Ronaldo, and Manchester United -- has played with Messi for Argentina since the winger, 33, made his debut in 2008. "Messi is from another planet. You throw a stone at him and he would control it, he beats a man like it is nothing, he thinks quicker than anyone. I have never seen anything like it," Di Maria told Argentinian TV channel TyC sports. Rice has been the subject of long-term interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, with the 22-year-old's reputation strengthening further following his key role in England's run to the Euro 2020 final. However, Moyes believes that clubs are now more able to resist big-money bids for their top players. "Well it has been proved that they can,' Moyes said. "Teams can do that and I would have to say that if it is going that way now I think it will keep rising. "I don't see it coming down really, the next bunch of good players will probably be worth more than £100m in the future. "It will probably continue but maybe those clubs have realised they can only buy one big player and not add lots more after that." 12.58 BST: Borussia Dortmund "were always very calm" about Erling Haaland staying at the club this summer, according to the club's sporting director. Haaland is on the wishlist of every top European club and was the subject of particular interest from Chelsea this summer, but the European champions eventually opted to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan. Dortmund have seen Jadon Sancho leave for Manchester United this summer, but Sebastian Kehl insists that the prospect of Norway international Haaland following him out of the club. "There were a lot of rumours, a lot of discussions, but internally we were always clear with Erling, with his father, with Mino Raiola his agent," Kehl told Viaplay before Saturday's 5-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, in which Haaland scored twice and set up another three goals (stream the replay in ESPN+ in the U.S.). "For that reason, we were always very calm. "The guy is here, you can see him, he's very motivated and very engaged, and he wants to play a great season for Borussia Dortmund." 12.16 BST: Romelu Lukaku has send a heartfelt message of thanks to Inter Milan supporters following his move to Chelsea... 11.49 BST: Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane looks increasingly likely to remain at Spurs this season as his team prepares to face the club he wants to join, Manchester City, later on Sunday. Kane told his boyhood club earlier this summer that he wants to leave, with City the frontrunners for his signature. Sources told ESPN's James Olley and Rob Dawson in June that the Premier League champions were preparing a £100m for the England captain, although no official offer has yet been made. The Sunday Telegraph reports that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy "is set to hold firm with his intention" to keep Kane, who has three years left on his contract, while the Sunday Times the 28-year-old will stay in north London for at least one more season. Kane has been declared available for Spurs when they host City in the final match of this season's opening round of Premier League matches, which kicks off at 16.30 BST. 11.16 BST: Paris Saint-Germain's new signings were all presented to fans at the Parc des Princes on Saturday before the club's 4-2 win over Strasbourg. While Sergio Ramos. Georginio Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi are all great signings in their own right, the most rapturous reception was saved for Lionel Messi. The sight of former rivals Ramos and Messi standing side by side as teammates is going to take some getting used to... 10.52 BST: Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham will arrive in Rome on Sunday to complete his move to Roma, the BBC reports. Abraham was Chelsea's joint-top scorer last season with 12 goals in all competitions, but he found first-team opportunities hard to come by once Thomas Tuchel took over as manager in January. Following Romelu Lukaku's return to Stamford Bridge, Abraham was told to find another club and he is set to link up with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in Serie A. The BBC reports that the 23-year-old England international will undergo his medical before completing a £34m transfer which includes a £68m re-sign clause, which comes into effect in two seasons' time.  10.09 BST: There were big moves last night in Italy, too, where Serie A champions Inter Milan announced two signings with Edin Dzeko joining from Roma and Denzel Dumfries arriving from PSV Eindhoven.
Dzeko, 35, scored in a 3-0 friendly win over Dynamo Kiev on Saturday and is seen as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku at Inter, following the Belgian star's return to Chelsea, and leaves Roma after a successful six years at the club. Dumfries, meanwhile, impressed at Euro 2020 for Netherlands, scoring two goals. The 25-year-old leaves PSV after three seasons at the club. 09.48 BST: ICYMI, Saturday's biggest piece of transfer news was Manchester United completing the signing of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid on a four-year deal. United unveiled Varane, who penned a contract to 2025 in a transfer worth €41m, at Old Trafford ahead of their matchagainst Leeds United. He wasn't in the squad for the match, which his new team won 5-1, as he hasn't trained with the side yet. "Manchester United is one of the most iconic clubs in world football and the chance to come here and play in the Premier League is something I couldn't turn down," he said in a statement. "There is a lot more that I want to achieve in my career and I know I'm joining a squad full of great players who will all have the same determination to win matches and trophies. Having spoken to the manager I can see how much progress has been made over the last few seasons and I now join a group ready to play at the highest level. "I want to make an impact here and I will give everything to become part of this club's illustrious history." - Dawson: Fernandes, Pogba get United's season off to perfect start 09.00 BST: Former Atletico Madrid and Chelsea striker Diego Costa has signed for Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro, with the Spain international set to return to action after eight months. Costa had been without a club since December following his departure from Atletico Madrid after the LaLiga champions agreed to the Brazil-born player's request to rescind his contract. It was his second spell at Atletico Madrid, having earlier played for the club from 2010-14. The enigmatic striker joins Atletico Mineiro, who defeated second-placed Palmeiras 2-0 earlier on Saturday and extended their lead at the top of Brazil's Serie A to five points. PAPER GOSSIP (by Adam Brown)- Odsonne Edouard is attracting interest from Ligue 1, with Nice reported to be preparing a bid for the Celtic star. Football Insider writes that a number of clubs have registered their interest in the 23-year-old, but it is the French side who are expected to make their move imminently. Ange Postecoglou's Celtic had previously wanted £40m for their hitman, before their asking price was dropped to a fee expected to be in the region of £20m. - Sky Sports writes that Liverpool defender Ben Davies is set to join Sheffield United on loan for the rest of the season. The report claims that the Blades were keen on the former Preston centre-back and tried to negotiate an option to buy, but Jurgen Klopp's side have no intention of selling the 28-year-old on a permanent basis. The deal is expected to be completed next week. - Lorenzo Insigne's agent has played down a potential move to Zenit St Petersburg, according to Calciomercato. The player currently has a year left on his deal, which has seen ignited interest from around Europe for the Napoli winger. Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are two of the clubs who have been circling, but they could face competition from Internazionale, who also would like to add the Italy international to their ranks. - Sampdoria's Mikkel Damsgaard could yet leave Serie A, with multiple clubs interested in the 21-year-old's services. Calciomercato writes that Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are two sides who are at the front of the queue, but it is believed that a fee of €35m will be required for a bid to be accepted by the Italian club. Damsgaard was a standout performer at Euro 2020 with Denmark, scoring a free kick against England in the semifinals. - Dario Benedetto could be set for a move to Real Betis, with Le10Sport writing that his next move has been decided. The Marseille striker is reported to be heading to LaLiga on a loan deal after being unable to win a place in the starting XI over former Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik. The 31-year-old scored five goals last season in 32 appearances for the club while registering three assists.
