The January transfer window is fast approaching and, naturally, all the gossip on who's moving where is heating up. Transfer Talk brings you all the latest buzz as we count down to the 2022 winter window.

TOP STORY: Dembele in demand

Juventus, Manchester United and Chelsea are all pushing to sign Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, according to Diario Sport.

Dembele's contract with the Blaugrana comes to an end in the summer of 2022, which has sparked plenty of debate around his future. Barcelona have not given up on keeping the 24-year-old past this season, and there could be a short-term renewal that keeps him in Catalonia and allows more time to negotiate a longer deal.

But while Dembele is happy with his current role at Barcelona, his agent has stated that a move elsewhere could see him earn double what he does at Camp Nou while also having a chance of winning trophies.

Barcelona are attempting to combat that by offering Dembele a lower salary with various bonuses that could see him become one of the club's highest earners if he and the team perform well.

If they are not successful in getting Dembele to sign before January, the club could offload four or five players to ensure they can sign two attacking recruits in the January window, with Manchester City's Ferran Torres being the priority.

Everything hinges on what happens in Barcelona, but Juventus, Man United and Chelsea are all watching closely -- while Paris Saint-Germain could even get involved.

21.58 GMT: Despite links with a return to Barcelona, goalkeeper Andre Onana has already agreed a contract with Inter Milan, reports Calciomercato. The 25-year-old Cameroon international's deal at Ajax comes to an end this summer, clearing the way for him to move to San Siro for the 2022-23 season.

21.25 GMT: Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all interested in Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman, according to Mundo Deportivo. The France international's deal at the Bavarian club expires in the summer, although reports have suggested there are talks between the parties over a new contract.

20.52 GMT: Brazilian side Palmeiras are interested in Aston Villa striker Wesley, according to Ekrem Konur. The 25-year-old has struggled for minutes in the Premier League, with Palmeiras said to have offered a one-year loan with an option to make the move permanent.

20.19 GMT: Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma are interested in TSG Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch, reports Sky Sports Germany. The 26-year-old Austria international is out of contract in the summer, with both clubs said to be eyeing him on a free transfer.

19.46 GMT: The New England Revolution signed free-agent defender Omar Gonzalez to a two-year contract on Wednesday. Financial terms were not disclosed by the 2021 Supporters' Shield winners. Read the full story.

19.13 GMT: Former Atletico Madrid centre-back Diego Godin is set to leave Serie A side Cagliari in January, writes Nicolo Schira. The report suggests that the 35-year-old is hoping to move back to Spain, with LaLiga club Valencia said to be interested in a potential transfer.

18.40 GMT: Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele has decided to sign a new contract and stay at the club, reports Footmercato. The France international could leave the club at the end of the season on a free transfer, with a host of Europe's biggest clubs courting the 24-year-old, however it seems Dembele is ready to extend his stay at Camp Nou.

18.07 GMT: Everton are looking to sign Rangers right-back Nathan Patterson in January to replace captain Seamus Coleman, reports the Mail. The Scotland international was a reported target of the Toffees in the summer, who wanted the 20-year-old for a transfer fee of £5m, but Rangers are said to demand a fee double that figure.

17.34 GMT: Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is set to sign a new deal for a third season at Stamford Bridge, reports Fabrizio Romano. The 37-year-old is one of four centre-backs whose contracts expire this summer, alongside Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta, leaving the Blues free to sort out the futures of the remaining trio.

17.00 GMT: AC Milan have received two offers for forward Rafael Leao, reports Calciomercato. The report suggests that one offer from the Bundesliga and one from the Premier League have come in for the 22-year-old Portugal international, while the Rossoneri look to offer him a new deal that would keep him at the club until 2026.

16.25 GMT: Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic is going to be attracting a lot of attention in January.

15.26 GMT: Barcelona are closing in on a €55m deal for Manchester City's Ferran Torres but the signing is dependent on freeing up room on their wage bill first, according to ESPN sources.

Sources have told ESPN that Barca and City officials met in Seville on Tuesday to put the finishing touches to a deal that will be worth an initial €55m with a further €10m in potential add-ons.

However, Barca still have work to do to pull off the transfer. They are hampered by LaLiga's financial restrictions and must move players on before they can make new signings.

Their spending limit for the season has been set at €97m by the Spanish league, which is significantly lower than their wage bill but they are permitted to spend 25% of any savings they make, be that in wages or transfer fees.

15.00 GMT: Palmeiras are interested in the signing of River Plate defender David Martinez, according to ESPN Brazil.

The Brazilian side were set to complete the signing of Valber Huerta to bolster their defence but have been forced to look somewhere else after the Chilean failed his medical due to a knee injury.

The 23-year-old Martinez is on loan form Defensa y Justicia so negotiations would have to be completed with them.

14.23 GMT: Tigres have completed the signing of Sebastian Cordova from Club America ahead of the new Liga MX Apertura season.

Cordova, 24, was not in the plans of America boss Santiago Solari and has decided to continue his career at Tigres where he will be reunited with his former manager Miguel Herrera.

14.02 GMT: Lille striker Jonathan David will leave the club next year, according to his agent Nick Mavromaras.

David, 21, has 11 goals in 18 games this season for the Ligue 1 champions but the Canada international is keen to move to a bigger league.

"For us, the goal is to finish the season in Lille, but it will be his last season there for several reasons," Mavromaras told Radio Canada. "I think the Premier League is a good option for him.

"I think that he likes Spain a lot also because he likes the feeling of the ball and the very technical players. These two leagues are a big priority for him, but nothing is excluded."

Arsenal and West Ham have been linked with David in the past.

13.05 GMT: United States international Sergino Dest is one of the players Barcelona are prepared to listen to offers for in January to help fund other signings, sources have told ESPN's Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens.

Barca have made strengthening their attack next month a priority but must move on players before they can even consider bringing anyone else in.

Given the struggles the club have encountered finding new clubs for the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti and Neto in recent transfer windows, sources have told ESPN that Barca are now open to offers for players who previously they wanted to keep.

Dest, 21, is someone who fits that category, with sources saying Bayern Munich are one of the clubs interested in the USMNT international.

13.00 GMT: Women's Super League champions Chelsea have announced the signing of left-back Alsu Abdullina from Lokomotiv Moscow.

Abdullina, 20, is a Russia international and has signed a contract until 2024.

12.32 GMT: Manchester United expect Paul Pogba to stay during the January transfer window despite the midfielder nearing the end of his contract at Old Trafford, sources have told ESPN's Rob Dawson.

Pogba will be a free agent in the summer and can begin formal negotiations with clubs outside England from Jan. 1.

Sources have told ESPN that United will consider offers for Pogba in January if the France international confirms to the club he has no intention of signing a new deal but, so far, that has not happened.

11.45 GMT: Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, sources have told ESPN's James Olley.

The 32-year-old was stripped of the captaincy last week after a series of disciplinary issues and has been training away from his teammates.

Sources claim the situation is not beyond repair but the Gunners are ready to sound out interest from Europe's top clubs to gauge whether a deal that suits all parties is possible.

Barcelona were interested in Aubameyang prior to the striker signing a three-year contract worth at least £250,000-a-week in September last year.

The size of that contract is an issue for potential suitors now, although reports in Italy have suggested Juventus could be interested in taking Aubameyang on loan if an agreement can be reached over his wages. Inter Milan and AC Milan have also been mooted as possible destinations.

11.27 GMT: Thai League 1 champions BG Pathum United have reinforced ahead of the second half of the 2021-22 campaign with the signing of Singapore international Ikhsan Fandi.

Ikhsan, who is currently featuring at AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 on home soil with the Lions through the semifinals -- joins from Jerv having plied his trade in Norway -- initially with Raufoss, since 2019.

The signing of the 22-year-old was announced by BGPU on social media with a video involving his older brother Irfan Fandi, who has been with the Thai outfit for the past three years, presenting him with a box that was later revealed to contain a club jersey.

11.03 GMT: Arsenal are looking to move on left-back Sead Kolasinac, with Watford keen, says The Daily Telegraph.

Kolasinac, 27, has a contract which expires at the end of the season and was sent out on loan to Schalke in January, only to return this summer.

Without a chance of playing regular football at the club now, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is happy to leave and Arsenal will listen to any offers so they don't lose him for nothing.

10.22 GMT: The Times says that Newcastle want to sign Tottenham defender Joe Rodon on loan.

Rodon, 24, has only played once since Antonio Conte took charge and wants regular game time. The centre-back was signed for £11m from Swansea in October 2020 but could now depart on loan.

Brighton have also been credited with interest.

09.45 GMT: Serie A champions Inter Milan were the latest club to have its offices raided by the finance police on Tuesday as part of the ongoing investigation into false accounting.

Authorities had raided the offices of Juventus last month to gather information on player transfers and agent dealings between 2019 and this year.

Inter said the documents requested from them were related to the sale of players in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.

"The request was made by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office to verify that the relevant capital gains were correctly recorded in the accounts,'' Inter said in a statement. "The club's financial statements have been drawn up in compliance with the most rigorous accounting principles.

"No Inter employee is being investigated," the club added. "No charges have been made. As the statement released by the Public Prosecutor's Office says, these are preliminary investigations.''

08.52 GMT: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he wants Eddie Nketiah to stay at the club after the young striker scored a hat trick on Tuesday.

Nketiah scored three goals in Arsenal's 4-1 win over Sunderland in their Carabao Cup quarterfinal (stream the replay on ESPN+ in the U.S.). The 22-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and is prepared to move if he is not able to get more first-team opportunities with the Gunners.

"Eddie does what he does in training every day, he put the ball in the net," Arteta said. "I think I've been very consistent with what I think about him, how much we like him and his contribution for us every time he plays is top.

"I want [him to stay], but he just wants more minutes. It's difficult to go against that, but as a club and personally I really want him to stay here. That's what we are trying to do, he's our player and a really important part of the squad."

08.00 GMT: Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani should not hesitate to join Barcelona if there is concrete interest from Camp Nou in January, according to former Old Trafford striker Dimitar Berbatov.

Uruguay international Cavani, 34, is out of contrat in the summer, and had found game time more difficult to come by since Cristiano Ronaldo's return to United in the summer.

"Despite a good season last time out, Cavani hasn't played enough," Berbatov told Betfair. "When someone like Ronaldo comes into the club, he takes all the spotlight, he plays every game and in the world of football this happens. It's not a fair situation because Cavani did so well for the team last season, he earned a new deal but Ronaldo has taken his place in the team. It's not fair but this happens in football.

"If there's a chance for Cavani to leave the club, if there is an offer from Barcelona, then of course he will be thinking about taking it to get more football, and if he will get more game time in LaLiga then I will support him and say 'go there and play, it sounds like a great deal, great money and you're not 24 anymore.'

"Barcelona need a striker, and it all depends on what Xavi wants from his team and how he is going to play. but if they are short on power upfront, I can see Cavani going there, not playing every single game, but he will be a solid addition and will provide goals because that's what he does wherever he goes."

- Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Liverpool defender Joe Gomez ahead of a possible summer transfer, as reported by The Daily Mail. Los Blancos have also discussed the likes of Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger (who would be a free agent if he doesn't renew his contract), Sevilla's Jules Kounde and Villarreal's Pau Torres. They have also considered Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt but may be unable to afford to sign the Dutchman.

- Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are both monitoring the situation of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to journalist Nicolo Schira. It is suggested that the Serbia international could be set to leave in the summer, with Lazio looking to bring in between €70m-€80m for the 26-year-old, whom the Red Devils attempted to sign for €60m in 2019.

- Internazionale, AC Milan, Juventus and Roma are all vying to sign Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi, says Calciomercato, with the 22-year-old having impressed during his maiden Serie A campaign. Roma receive a percentage of the fee brought in for Frattesi, which could help if they sign the player who came through their academy. However, the Giallorossi are currently behind the other aforementioned trio in the race to sign him.

- Kingsley Coman, whose current Bayern Munich contract runs until 2023, wants €20m-per-season to sign a new one, while the Bavarian club will only pay €15m, reports Sport Bild. Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich are the only Bayern players currently on that wage -- with Robert Lewandowski earning more. There are questions around whether the French winger has reached the level required to be in that company, combatted by the awareness that bringing in a new player would be more expensive with transfer fees.

- As Napoli aim to strengthen at left-back, Paris Saint-Germain's Layvin Kurzawa and Everton's Lucas Digne are among their top targets, according to Foot Mercato. The main cause for concern at Napoli is in the centre of defence, but that isn't stopping them looking for an alternative to Mario Rui and Faouzi Ghoulam.
