LIVE Transfer Talk: Barcelona's Erling Haaland move still on next summer?

The summer transfer window was unlike any other; see all the major deals and check out how we graded the biggest signings. And just because the window is shut until January, that doesn't mean the rumours won't keep coming. Here is the latest gossip and speculation.

TOP STORY: Barca still see way forward with Haaland

Despite their financial troubles, Barcelona are considering a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland next summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 21-year-old is available through a €75 million release clause in his contract in the summer. It's a fee the report claims is feasible for the Spanish club, however the bigger issue is the player's wage demands.

Barca believe they are in with a chance of landing the striker, as agent Mino Raiola travelled to Camp Nou last year for discussions alongside several trips to other European clubs.

It has been reported that Barcelona also have €20m to use to recruit new players in January, but they may have to hold onto that to put towards signing Haaland in the summer.

Raiola is expected to ask for €20m-a-year for Haaland's wages, a demand that they may struggle to meet without moving some more of their big names on.

The Norway international joined Borussia Dortmund in 2020 from FC Salzburg for around €20m and has developed incredibly in the Bundesliga. This season alone, he has scored seven goals with four assists in five appearances, while he has 68 goals in 67 appearances for the club in total.

22.00 BST: Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski will continue to be given chances by Massimiliano Allegri, but his future remains uncertain, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Sweden international has failed to truly impress the manager so far, and it is suggested that he could be offered in an attempt to bring in Dusan Vlahovic in from Fiorentina. There are also other clubs within and outside of Italy monitoring the 21-year-old's situation.

21.27 BST: Following a previous report for Sport Bild that Newcastle United could move for Filip Kostic, Sport1 are stating that Eintracht Frankfurt don't expect that to happen.

The Serbia international tried to force a move to Lazio during the summer transfer window, but it fell through to his frustration. With relations between the club and player back on track, he is expected to stay put through the winter at least.

20.54 BST: Flamengo will look to sign Andreas Pereira from Manchester United for less than the €20m fee made up of installments that was part of their loan agreement, according to Globo Esporte. The clause to make the transfer permanent is seen as a safety net that can be used if other clubs come in for the midfielder, but until then, they will try to get a cheaper deal with improved conditions.

20.21 BST: According to Sport1, while Antonio Rudiger hopes to continue with Chelsea because of his performances with the Blues and relationship with Thomas Tuchel, their first contract offer has been deemed "disrespectful." A move to Bayern Munich is said to be interesting for the centre-back, but there will be further talks with Marina Granovskaia as Chelsea hope to keep the Germany international past his contract expiry this summer.

19.48 BST: Juventus are monitoring AC Milan centre-back Alessio Romagnoli's situation, according to Calciomercato.

The former Italy international's deal comes to an end in the summer, and there's yet to be any concrete proposal presented to the 26-year-old. If the option is there, Juventus will look to move in and sign him as a free agent.

19.15 BST: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his surprise at Raheem Sterling's admission that he would like to play abroad.

"I didn't know [he had considered leaving], I think the club didn't know it either," Guardiola is quoted as saying by the Independent. "Raheem is our player, hopefully he'll be an incredibly important player for us. I don't know if he'll play more."

When asked whether he's confident the England international will stay, Guardiola responded: "I'm not involved in the contracts, the club decide that."

18.42 BST: Fiorentina are working to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti in January, with Sofyan Amrabat potentially going the other way as part of a deal, according to Calciomercato. This proposal is meant to get ahead of Internazionale and AC Milan, who want to bring in the Italy international as a free agent when his contract expires in the summer, after it was announced that the front man doesn't want to sign an extension in Turin.

18.09 BST: With Conor Gallagher set to return to Chelsea when his loan ends at the end of the season, Crystal Palace are looking into signing 25-year-old Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo in the summer, according to Football Insider. The Nigeria international's contract at Ibrox runs until the summer of 2023, so the Eagles will be keeping a close eye on his situation as they prepare a potential move.

17.36 BST: Bayern Munich have confirmed that they have extended the contract of defender Josip Stanisic. The Croatia international, who has made nine appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga champions, has signed a two-year extension on a deal that was set to end in 2023, keeping him around until 2025.

17.03 BST: Manchester United, Everton, Leicester City and Norwich City are all showing interest in Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay, according to the Sun. The Canaries are said to be especially keen, with bids expected to be made for the 18-year-old during the January transfer window.

16.30 BST: AS reports that PSG forward Kylian Mbappe has decided not to sign any new contract with the club.

Mbappe, 22, made it clear recently that he told PSG he wanted to depart this summer and move to Real Madrid. But the French side rejected multiple offers for him, including one above €200m sources told ESPN, despite the fact his contract expires in the summer of 2022.

The France international has now chosen to move to Madrid as a free agent and won't put pen to paper on any offers from PSG.

15.42 BST: Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has reportedly turned down an offer to become the next boss of Newcastle United, according to RMC.

Zidane won two LaLiga titles and three back-to-back Champions League trophies during his time at Madrid. He left the job earlier this year as Carlo Ancelotti returned to the Bernabeu and has now attracted the attention of Newcastle after their Saudi-backed £300m takeover.

Newcastle took the unusual step of releasing a statement ahead of the weekend's game to say that manager Steve Bruce would still be in charge.

"We have had an extremely busy week reviewing the business and getting to know people and it is imperative that we continue to be patient and considered in our approach," new part-owner Amanda Staveley said. "Change does not always happen overnight. It demands time and that we follow a carefully considered plan and strategy ...

"Steve has been very professional in our dealings with him and he, and his coaching team, will take the team on Sunday. If we make any changes going forward, Steve will be the first to know. But, in the meantime, we wish him the best of luck in his 1,000th match as a manager and will be joining you [the fans] in getting right behind the team."

So it doesn't sound like Bruce will be there for long...

15.00 BST: What does the future hold for Man United midfielder Paul Pogba, given his contract expires next summer?

14.35 BST: TEAMtalk says that Tottenham and West Ham want to sign England U21 and Saint-Etienne goalkeeper Etienne Green.

Green, 21, made his England debut against Andorra in 2023 European Under-21 Championship qualifying this week and has made 16 appearances for Claude Puel's Saint-Etienne side.

This season the club are bottom of Ligue 1, but Green has continued to catch the eye and could move on as the Premier League duo look to add to their goalkeeping departments.

14.07 BST: Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he wants midifelder Jesse Lingard to extend his contract.

Lingard will be a free agent in the summer if fresh terms cannot be agreed and sources told ESPN's Rob Dawson that Barcelona and Milan are among a host of clubs who have already registered their interest.

The 28-year-old spent a successful spell on loan at West Ham last season but Solskjaer insists he sees his long-term future at Old Trafford.

"Jesse's had a good start to the season," Solskjaer told a news conference on Friday. "He's come on and scored a few goals for us that's been very important for us. We want o to prolong his contract, we see him as an important player for us.

"It's up to him and maybe up to me to give him more playing time because he deserves to. Hopefully, we can get a deal sorted for Jesse because we really rate him."

13.50 BST: Liverpool are eyeing Leeds winger Raphinha but the Brazil international is happy at Elland Road, according to his agent.

Raphinha, who has scored three goals in seven league appearances for Leeds, started for the first time for Brazil and scored a brace in Thursday's World Cup qualifier against Uruguay.

"Raphinha has become an important player in the Premier League, the club knows he has grown and things will happen naturally," Raphinha's agent Deco told GloboEsporte: "He's young, he has many challenges ahead, there are certainly several clubs that like him, and Liverpool do like him, there were enquiries, but nothing official. Leeds wanted to keep him for another season.

"Raphinha is happy at Leeds and for sure the time will come to take the biggest leap in his career, to take a step forward. He has a three-year contract, but it is not the contract that defines the length of his stay or prevents transfers. Leeds is aware, they will want to make an important sale, and Raphinha will end up taking a step in his career."

On Raphinha arrival to Brazil's squad, former Barcelona and Portugal star Deco said: "He stood out a lot in the Premier League, and Leeds is not one of the best-known clubs. This drew attention, he has merit for having been called up."

13.33 BST: Raheem Sterling is keen to focus on winning back his place at Manchester City before deciding whether or not to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium, sources told ESPN.

Sterling has a contract until 2023 and although City want to agree a new long-term deal, the England international will first ensure he will play a key role for the club in the future. The 26-year-old has won three Premier League titles since arriving from Liverpool in 2015 but has found few opportunities after falling out of favour with manager Pep Guardiola, starting two of City's seven Premier League games so far this season.

Sources told ESPN that City's staff have been impressed by the way Sterling has worked in training to adapt to a new No. 9 role following the departure of Sergio Aguero and the £100m summer signing of Jack Grealish. He won plaudits in the role against Paris Saint-Germain, despite City falling to a 2-0 defeat.

13.00 BST: Serie A side Empoli received the latest instalment for the departure of midfielder Miha Zajc a year late after Fenerbahce inadvertently sent the funds to a Dutch car dealership.

In January 2019, Empoli agreed to Zajc's exit to the Turkish side for a fee of €4m, payable in three instalments. However, the final payment of €830,000 did not arrive in their bank account until September 2021. Fenerbahce made the payment on Sept. 30, 2020 but inserted the wrong recipient's bank details and the money ended up at a car dealership in the Dutch city of Doetinchem.

Upon finding out about the administrative error, Empoli contacted the company to request the money, but it was rejected. Empoli threatened to cancel the transfer, which led Fenerbahce to sue the Dutch company, and it was not until the following September that a Gelderland court ruled in the Turkish side's favour.

12.40 BST: Torino defender Bremer is on the radar of Manchester United, says Gazzetta dello Sport.

Bremer, 24, has a contract which expires in 2023 and reports have linked the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund, Inter and Napoli with the Brazilian in recent months.

Torino want to extend his contract, but United are keeping a close eye on the situation.

12.06 BST: Barcelona fear a delay in extending Ousmane Dembele's contract at Camp Nou is down to his agent courting interest from clubs in the Premier League, sources told ESPN's Moises Llorens and Sam Marsden.

Dembele's contract with Barca expires next summer and he's yet to agree a new deal with the club. The player has expressed a desire to prolong his stay but talks with his representative, Moussa Sissoko, have not been as straightforward.

The France forward is free to negotiate with other clubs from Jan. 1, when he moves into the final six months of his contract, and sources say Barca are seeing parallels with Ilaix Moriba's exit in the summer. Ilaix was also in the final year of his contract. When his agents rejected an offer to renew, Barca sent him to train with the B team and told him he wouldn't play for the club if he didn't sign new terms. The young midfielder eventually signed for RB Leizpig for around €20m in August, with his representatives making a handsome amount of commission on the deal.

11.40 BST: Bayern Munich won't want to lose Robert Lewandowski, unless they can land Erling Haaland, but Manchester City are as "possible destination," says Bild.

Lewandowski, 33, seems happy at the club but Bayern may want to find a long-term replacement for the Poland international.

Man City have been looking for a striker to replace Sergio Aguero and could swoop for Lewandowski in the summer if his agent Pini Zahavi can make it work.

10.58 BST: Jesse Lingard is wanted by Barcelona and AC Milan as he gets closer to the end of his contract at Manchester United, sources have told ESPN's Rob Dawson.

10.04 BST: Aurelien Tchouameni is the name on everyone's lips at the moment. Scouts from Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City have all watched the Monaco midfielder in action this season as the race hots up to land one of Europe's top prospects.

Sources told ESPN's Julien Laurens that a fee between €50m and €60m will be needed in order to bring Monaco to the negotiating table, with Tchouameni on United's radar if they fail to agree a new deal for Pogba.

Chelsea have also registered an interest in the 21-year-old in the past, and the Champions League winners are on good terms with the player's agent Jonathan Kebe, who also represents Sevilla's Jules Kounde.

09.38 BST: Barcelona are the latest club to have been offered Manchester United's Paul Pogba on a free transfer next summer, sources told ESPN's Sam Marsden and Moises Llorens.

Pogba, 28, is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season and his agent, Mino Raiola, is sounding out some of Europe's heavyweights with a view to finding a new club for the midfielder.

Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and several Premier League clubs have also been approached regarding Pogba, who can begin negotiations from Jan. 1.

Pogba has made no decision on his future and has not ruled out extending his stay at United, although he is also going to explore what other options he has available to him. Barca would consider signing the France international on a free transfer as they look to rebuild their squad under new president Joan Laporta.

09.17 BST: Karim Benzema has repeated his desire to link up with France teammate Kylian Mbappe at club level, saying "of course, one day" he'd like the Paris Saint-Germain star to join him at Real Madrid.

The two forwards have shown they're compatible since Benzema's return to the national team earlier this year, and both were on the scoresheet in Sunday's UEFA Nations League final win over Spain (stream the replay on ESPN+ in the U.S.).

"Why not? I've always said it," Benzema told Spain's national broadcaster TVE on Thursday when asked about the prospect of Mbappe moving to the Bernabeu. "I've said it before, I can say it again. Of course, one day."

Meanwhile the Madrid press aren't concerned about reports in France that PSG are preparing an increase in capital which would help the club improve their contract renewal offer for Mbappe.

"Mbappe has taken a decision and money isn't the most important thing," AS columnist -- and Real Madrid superfan -- Tomas Roncero quoted a source as saying on Friday. "He won't renew at PSG for all the money in the world."

08.48 BST: Barcelona's teenage midfielder Pedri has agreed a new contract through 2026 with a release clause rising to €1 billion ($1.16bn), the Catalan club confirmed on Thursday.

Pedri's previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season, and once the transfer window closed in the summer, Barca made tying him down to new terms a priority. The Spain international's release clause has more than doubled in the process (it was previously €400mn) to set a new club record.

Antoine Griezmann's contract, signed in 2019, included an €800m buyout option, which was the previous record. Lionel Messi's clause reached €700m during his time at Camp Nou.

In his first season at Barcelona, he made 52 appearances for the senior team, becoming a regular in midfield alongside Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong.

His performances also earned him international recognition. Spain coach Luis Enrique called him up for his first cap in March and he went on to be a key player for La Roja at the Euro 2020.

08.00 BST: Some big transfer news regarding Manchester City to start with -- Raheem Sterling would be willing to leave the Premier League club and move abroad.

The England international, 26, has fallen out of favour with City coach Pep Guardiola this season, starting only two of seven Premier League games.

"If there was an opportunity to go somewhere else, I'd be open to it at this moment in time," Sterling said during the FT Business of Sport US Summit.

"As an English player, all I know is the Premier League. I've always known that maybe one day, I would love to play abroad and see how I would come up against that challenge."

Asked what languages he would like to speak, Sterling said: "I should be learning a few different languages. I quite like the French accent - and Spanish."
