Tampa Bay Buccaneers get Rob Gronkowski, Lavonte David, Richard Sherman back for New Orleans Saints game

NFL, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints

The injury-depleted Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a few very important pieces active Sunday at the New Orleans Saints, making them much closer to full strength than they have been in several weeks as they face former Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston for the first time as a starter.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski, inside linebacker Lavonte David and cornerback Richard Sherman are all active after being listed as questionable Friday. The only other questionable player on Friday's injury report -- cornerback Dee Delaney, who has stepped in for Sherman and suffered an ankle injury last week -- is inactive. Wide receiver Antonio Brown will also miss the second straight week with an ankle injury.

Gronkowski suffered cracked ribs in the Bucs' Week 3 loss at the Los Angeles Rams. David suffered a low ankle sprain in the Bucs' Week 5 win over the Miami Dolphins. Sherman suffered a hamstring injury in the Bucs' Week 6 win at the Philadelphia Eagles. All returned to practice this week for the first time since suffering their respective injuries.

The Bucs are still without two starting cornerbacks in Sean Murphy-Bunting and Carlton Davis -- both of whom are on injured reserve with no timetable to return. Wide receiver Scotty Miller and long-snapper Zach Triner are also on injured reserve.

The Bucs are currently 6-1 with sole possession of first place in the NFC South, while the second-place Saints are coming off a 13-10 Monday Night Football win over the Seattle Seahawks to improve to 4-2.
