KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 2, 2003
– One lucky Sports Radio 810 WHB listener and their guest will get to
rub elbows with the likes of Michael Jordan, John Elway, Mark McGwire
and Dennis Miller during the American Century Championship, a celebrity
golf tournament held each year at Lake Tahoe, Nev.
In order to win this prize, contestants will
participate in a weeklong Hole-in-One/Closest to the Pin Driving Contest
the week of June 16 at several golf courses throughout the Kansas City
area culminating on Friday, June 20 at Drumm Farm Golf Course in Independence.
The other golf courses hosting the event throughout the week are Falcon
Ridge, Monday; Iron Horse, Tuesday; The National II, Wednesday; and Tiffany
Greens, Thursday.
From Monday through Thursday of that week, participants
will get the opportunity during the time of Kevin Kietzman’s show (“Between
the Lines” broadcast from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. CDT) to hit a hole-in-one or
get a ball closest to the pin. The top two qualifiers from each of those
days will advance to Friday’s finals. On Friday, June 20, an all-day
event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. will take place where four additional qualifiers
will advance to the finals. The finalists will participate in a one-shot
shoot off at 5 p.m. to determine who will win the trip to Lake Tahoe.
Contestants will be asked for a voluntary $5
donation at each of the locations to help benefit the Jim Eisenreich Foundation
for Children with Tourette Syndrome.
The winner and a guest will receive roundtrip
airfare, five-night hotel stay (leaving Wed., July 16, returning Mon.,
July 21), two passes to the tournament and other amenities. The finals
will take place on the 150-yard first hole of Drumm Farm’s par-3 golf
course.
