OFFICIAL BIO: Rob Brenton was born and raised in the Kansas City area, growing up in Overland Park, Kansas and graduating from Blue Valley Northwest High School in 2009. Rob then studied Communications at the University of Kansas and had the privilege of watching the Jayhawks make the Final Four in 2012 before leaving to join Sports Radio 810. Rob started at the station working nights and weekends, serving as a producer and board operator for “Sports Night with TJ Carpenter.” In 2014, Rob was given the opportunity to join “The Program with Soren Petro,” and continues to work as a midday board operator and producer.
Rob is a lifelong sports fan of Kansas City teams and beyond. He has been cheering for the Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks since he was kid, in spite of some consistently poor performances throughout the 1990s. Recently, Rob has become a great fan of soccer, and cheers for Sporting Kansas City and English soccer (football) power Chelsea FC; he’s even become a bit of a repository for soccer rules and player stats. And since Kansas City is not home to a NBA team, Rob cheers for the Cleveland Cavaliers and even purchased the league pass to watch as many games as possible. Outside of his work at Sports Radio 810 and general sports fandom, Rob enjoys going out with friends, watching movies, and reading comic books.
