OFFICIAL HOST BIO: Doug was born just a poor, coal miner’s daughter on a hot August night in 1973. That’s not actually true. There is no coal mining in Farmington. As you might imagine there was plenty of farming though. Despite that, Doug’s never bailed hay, slopped a pig, shucked corn or laid an egg. Soon the town of 8-thousand could no longer contain him and he was lured away by the glitz and glamour of….

Kirksville, Missouri…population 17-thousand (counting Truman State students).
Keeping his nose to the grindstone and his ass in class Doug was able to work through a grueling Communications degree. He even found time to spin the hits at K-T-U-F (yes, K-Tough) a top 40 radio station at the time. Amazingly, all this was accomplished in just four years. After all, he would not be able to wait to get to his next destination of…

Moberly, Missouri…The Magic City.
After realizing he was not cut out for the big city life of Kirksville, Doug pulled back the reins and settled in Moberly…population 12,000. Nicknamed “The Magic City” because people just kept disappearing (some call it moving away), Moberly taught Doug that the big city might not be so bad after all. Doug’s first check at KWIX and KRES radio rivaled those of top NBA picks. However, his 12-thousand dollars was for a year…not for one quarter of basketball. Doug worked his way from overnights to morning news anchor to news director in less than a year. He also did play by play, hosted coaches shows, was Nate Bukaty’s boss and provided severe weather reports using the KRES Doppler Radar. Each weekend Doug would make the trip back and forth to…

Liberty, Missouri…home of Jesse James’ First Daylight Bank Robbery.
Doug would make the trek down highway 24 each Friday and Sunday. Since 12-thousand a year didn’t cover much gas...and since Jesse beat him to the bank...Doug got a part time job on weekends doing news on 61-Country…back when there was something worth listening to at that spot on the dial (OUCH!) Then in 1998 WDAF was bought by Entercom and Doug was made full time as a news reporter at 980 KMBZ. He stayed there until the birth of his first daughter in 2003 when he decided to be a stay at home dad. After three months of dealing with his daughter’s poopy pants Doug decided to….

Deal with Soren’s poopy pants. At least Soren can change himself. Doug signed on to work on “The Program” at Sports Radio 810 WHB in January of 2004.
